Electromagnetic Warfare and Intelligence (EWIS) Branch is seeking an experienced security professional for our EL 1Branch Security Manager, located in Russell Offices Canberra. The successful applicant will work as part of the broader EWIS team to protect current and future EW capabilities. The EWIS Branch Security Manager will be responsible for the implementation, compliance and governance of EWIS Branch protective security controls in response to operational and strategic contexts.This role will actively manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships including identifying relevant stakeholders’ expectations and concerns to develop and communicate methodologies and practices to achieve outcomes. The EWIS Branch Security Manager will develop and maintain close links with a range of Defence and Defence Industry security partners.This includes mentoring and guiding a team of EWIS security specialists in Canberra and other locations throughout Australia. As the subject matter expert for security matters, the EWIS Branch Security Manager is responsible for providing security assistance and advice to all members of EWIS Branch.About our Team

- Demonstrated experience in implementing and assuring ‘security-in-depth’ principles across a complex enterprise.
- An in-depth knowledge of legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements in relation to security.
- Be able to achieve complex to very complex protective security work within an integrated workforce.
- High-level organisational skills, self-drive and initiative with the ability to influence others to achieve tasks and Defence objectives.
- An experienced leader well connected with the broader national security community.
- The capacity to think strategically and develop plans and processes to enhance the achievement of business outcomes.
- Excellent communication and customer engagement skills.
