Responsible for:
- Developing and implementing NASPO workforce training strategies.
- Applying knowledge, skills, and experience to understand performance indicators and work design against strategic objectives.
- Identifying and building on opportunities for building team capability.
- Identifying relevant stakeholders’ expectations and concerns to develop and communicate methodologies and practices.
- Proactively leading and shaping the future strategic direction of the NASPO/REO Workforce team.
- Identifying strategies to mitigate workforce risks including the development of workforce design options and reprioritisation as necessary.
- Analysing workforce data.
The Workforce Team engages in Strategic Workforce planning in the context of the wider Domain, Branch and NASPO environments, recruitment actions, training plans, workplace culture initiatives and assists the Business Director in interactions with external organisations in relation to workforce and people management.
Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have broad workforce strategic management skills along with workforce training:
- They must be able to prioritise strategically to ensure NASPO effectively manages and trains its workforce to meet strategic goals.
- They will require an in-depth knowledge of workforce strategy and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making, Defence’s mission and policy requirements, and exercise sound decision making and judgement to provide expert policy advice.
- They will exercise a considerable degree of independence, and perform a leadership role.
- They will have in-depth knowledge of Workforce strategy and design function.
