- Provide leadership, direction, coordination, advice, and guidance to build a workforce of the future
- Build the workforce strategy and plan with a future focus to include all health teams at RFDSSE
- Identify and engage in projects and programs that align to the strategy, addressing the health service workforce needs, models and future directions
- Focus on workforce succession planning, development of education programs and training, and partnerships to support clinical operations
- Lead strategic partnerships with educational institutions and colleges to build long term training and development models for a range of health staff into the future
- Be the strategic lead for RFDSSE in building the workforce that is focused on career opportunities in rural and remote healthcare
- Align education and development programs with the strategic directions of the RFDSSE
- Manage the acquisition and maintenance of educational assets and equipment
- Source grant funding and other means of financial contribution
- Partner with RFDS Federation Colleagues
- Support and contribute to a growing research agenda that focusses on rural and remote healthcare
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
- A tertiary qualification in health, education, social impact, project management
- Experience in managing/leading teams and consulting a broad range of stakeholders
- An ability to develop and implement a workforce and development strategy and plan that is aligned to the organisational aspirations
- Proven successful project and change management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including high level written communication skills as an effective consultant and negotiator with all levels of the organisation and with a wide range of stakeholders, from senior health professionals to senior executives both internally and externally
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills including ability to analyse and understand complex information, business processes and concepts to drive informed decision making
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of policies, procedures, and guidelines relevant to Health and/or clinical education
