Are you a skilled and driven procurement professional seeking an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact? Our Federal; Government Client is searching for an Assistant Manager, Agency Procurement Advisor to join there Finance, Reporting, and Operations Branch (FR&O). As part of the Facilities, Procurement, and Security Section, you'll play a pivotal role in driving the Authority's procurement strategies while contributing to our Corporate and Research Division's mission to modernise financial management processes.

As the Assistant Manager, Agency Procurement Advisor, your primary responsibility will be to provide high-level guidance on all outsourced procurements for the Authority.Your expertise will shape procurement plans, oversee the procurement process from planning to contract establishment, and facilitate debriefs for tenderers. Your contributions will be integral in ensuring compliance with best procurement practices, CPR's, and enhancing the Authority's protective security framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on procurement proposals, ensuring quality and endorsement of procurement plans.
  • Manage the advertisement of procurement opportunities, handle inquiries, and provide market responses.
  • Assure quality in procurement evaluation reports and contracts before delegate approval.
  • Offer strategic advice on procurement initiatives, updating procurement documents in line with guidelines.
  • Oversee reporting obligations for the Annual Report, back pocket briefs, and external

Role Functions:

  • Foster strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance Authority's objectives.
  • Provide strategic advice supporting the Authority's direction within your area of expertise.
  • Exercise professional judgment in decision-making, considering risks within a complex environment.
  • Maintain an extensive understanding of the APS operating environment and Authority'sresponsibilities.
  • Oversee and analyse project outputs, aims, and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative, financial, and administrative frameworks.
  • Recommend strategic directions, considering broader agency implications.
  • Lead detailed projects impacting the Authority's strategic and operational outcomes.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge to complex situations requiring interpretation and analysis
  • Negotiate and liaise with stakeholders to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Manage complex customer relationships and identify service improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a customer-focused culture within the work area.
  • Offer expert procurement advice aligned with Commonwealth Procurement Rules and the Authority's policies

Qualifications/Experience

  • Desirable: Previous experience in government procurement with an understanding of Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
  • Desirable: Qualifications in procurement or a related field (e.g., Certificate IV).
