Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian. 

A new role awaits

Contribute to success across the NDIA in this EL2 Executive Officer role. We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic professional to join our team, providing project management, support services and strategic advice to our Deputy CEO, Partners, Providers, Home and Living.

Within the Partners, Providers, Home and Living Group, there are three divisions – Partners, Home and Living, and Providers and Market Coordination. Our team oversees comprehensive disability support programs, including Partners in the Community, while strategically guiding both capital and non-capital supports within the Home and Living market.  We coordinate engagements to optimise outcomes for providers and participants, actively shaping the future of disability support.

Your contribution will be bring unique skills and perspective to enhance team dynamics, ensure operational success and achieve the organisation’s strategic goals. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and direct enquiries, requests, and advice flow between CEO, Board and various channels, ensuring appropriate allocation  and timely responses.
  • Support the DCEO by coordination input for reports and projects, and drafting essential papers for internal governance committees, the CEO, Minister and the Board. 
  • Provide comprehensive reporting to the Board, Sub-Committees and Executive Management Group, facilitating effective communication sponsored by the SLT. 
  • Ensure procedural compliance by overseeing items for clearance, managing the SLT executive budget, procurement, recruitment exercises, and handling agency governance matters, including QTBs, senate estimate briefs and ministerial correspondence.

This role is ideally performed from Geelong or Richmond. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months may be offered. 

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
