Catering for students from Early Learning Centre (Three Year Old), Ivanhoe Girls' Grammar School seeks to provide excellence in education within a caring Christian community and to prepare young women for a personally and professionally fulfilling life.
Our Early Learning Centre (ELC) provides a nurturing, warm and welcoming environment for children and their families to feel safe and secure. It is through this sense of security that children are able to develop the courage and confidence to challenge themselves to take risks, which in turn builds their resilience, and self-esteem.
Strong relationships form the foundation on which our philosophy is established. We believe children’s learning and positive brain development is enhanced through social connection and supportive networks that encourage and support the child’s curiosity, intellect and emotional, physical and social development.
The children in the ELC are encouraged to be inquisitive, problem solve and take an active role in their learning. We encourage children to be reflective and express their thoughts, ideas and feelings through the ‘hundred languages’ as embodied in the Reggio Emilia approach.
Applications are invited for the position of Early Childhood Co-educator (Assistant). This is an ongoing role commencing Term 2 2024. This position requires the applicant to work part time hours, 33.25 hours per week. Working hours are 8.30am to 3.30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and 8.30am to 4.15pm on Tuesdays. This position is primarily term time, a total of 40 weeks per year. In addition, the successful applicant may be required to work one day over each term break in preparation for the new term.
Our small team is looking for someone with a fun, positive disposition, warm and welcoming nature and a genuine willingness to contribute and learn. We are looking for a team member who is collaborative, a good communicator and committed to building strong relationships with children, parents and co-workers.
We welcome Diploma qualified applicants who are experienced, creative and passionate. An understanding of the Reggio Emilia philosophy would be beneficial.
