The Opportunity
Come and discover the opportunity to join our Paint & Finishing team at our Springhill Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as an Electrical Technician. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
You will join a cross functional team that ensures equipment is maintained to the highest standards to meet our objectives for quality and reliability. In this critical role, you will be able to use your technical background and experience to deliver key outcomes, whilst ensuring your safety and that of your colleagues is a priority.
This rare opportunity seeks the expertise of an experienced electrician who is ready to step up to the next challenge of their career, with multiple avenues to explore upon undergoing career development and progression within our vibrant steel manufacturing plant.
What will you do?
With your proven understanding of industrial electrical systems, in this role you will:
- follow the safe system of work and develop isolation instructions and job safety analysis for the required work
- provide assessment and follow up of equipment issues impacting plant performance
- perform equipment inspections as well as detailed planning and condition monitoring of equipment
- perform safe, efficient and effective emergency repairs
- fault-find on electrical equipment including PLC’s, drives and instrumentation systems
- perform equipment inspections, identify improvement opportunities and report on findings
More about you
You are driven by self-development, committed to our success, and have technical experience within an industrial, manufacturing environment.
You will have:
- electrical diploma qualifications (or working towards the completion of a Diploma)
- current NSW Electrical License
- experience working with IBA tracing & PLC’s
- have a strong commitment to safety
- experience in fault finding and problem solving
- initiative in carrying out equipment repairs
