Founded in 1910, Motor Traders’ Association of New South Wales (“MTA NSW”) is the peak Employer’s Association dedicated to representing owners and business principals in the NSW automotive industry. We support our members in the daily running of their businesses, as well as lobbying governing bodies to ensure a long and viable automotive industry in NSW.
We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Employment Relations Advisor to join our Employment Relations Team, with 1-3 years’ experience in a human resources and/or industrial relations advice capacity.
To be successful in this role, you will require the following skills and attributes:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Employment Law or a related discipline
- Sound knowledge of legislative frameworks applicable to employment arrangements, including the Fair Work Act 2009
- Knowledge of the automotive industry is desirable
- Attention to detail
- An excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to work in a team environment and meet deadlines
Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate advice by telephone and in writing to members on all aspects of the employment lifecycle including wages, awards, leave entitlements, termination and disciplinary processes, workplace health and safety, and workers compensation
- Participate in the preparation of articles for the MTA Journal, IR Newsletter and Electronic Distribution Mail (EDM)
- Assist in preparation of documentation on behalf of Members for unfair dismissal and general protections claims lodged in Fair Work Commission
- Assist, as required, in the administrative functions for the Employment Relations Information System
- Prepare webinars and other training material for distribution to members
- Travel intrastate, as required, for member nights and activities
