The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of an organisation dedicated to nation-building renewable energy projects that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
In your new role, you will be responsible for the operational delivery of End User Computing (EUC) services within Transgrid’s workplace environment.
The position has functional ownership of Service Desk and Desktop Support Services and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance user productivity and deliver a secure and reliable ‘Modern Desktop’ End User Computing environment. The role has operational oversight of the entire lifecycle of technology hardware and software assets assigned to End Users to ensure smooth operations and optimal resource utilisation.
This position requires a combination of leadership, technical and customer service skills, and an understanding of technology’s intersection with business objectives. The role will evaluate Transgrid’s collaboration solutions and how they align with end-user needs. They will develop and execute the strategic direction for technology service desk support, End User Computing and unified communication services, aligning it with Transgrid’s overall technology strategy and business objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading End User technology service functions, strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of ‘modern’ end-User Computing environments. They will also have experience in managing vendor relationships and ensuring service delivery excellence.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years’ experience in leading high performing End User Computing management and support teams
- Expertise in End User Services and Endpoint management within complex technical environments (Windows, Microsoft 365, Teams, Sharepoint, InTune, Entra ID, Azure Virtual Desktop).
- Strong knowledge of IT service management principles, frameworks (e.g., ITIL), and best practices.
- In-depth knowledge of asset management principles, practices, and methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyse and resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities.
- Knowledge of security principles and practices related to End User Computing.
- Excellence in customer service with the ability to develop partnerships with key stakeholders and business units.
