Engagement Officer, Community Projects

• 3 month contract
• Brisbane CBD location

As the Engagement Officer, Community Projects, your key responsibilities will include:

• Plan and undertake activities supporting community and stakeholder engagement strategies, including coordinating project activities within the stakeholder engagement plan through independent completion of own task and oversight of project resources/team. Some engagements may require attendance at activities that are out of normal office hours.
• Build, maintain and improve relationships and networks both internally and externally to enable implementation of engagement strategies and effective events that engage the target audience. This may include managing potential conflicts through clear communication.
• Build and maintain knowledge of stakeholder interests and social responses to biosecurity concerns. Apply engagement techniques to communicate effectively with the target audience using audience analytics to support stakeholder mapping.

• Under direction, negotiate and communicate with designated stakeholder groups on behalf of the program area/agency within department guidelines.
• Establish and promote events on behalf of the organisation in conjunction with key projects and business needs. 

Skills and experience requirements:

• You must possess interpersonal skills and experience in engaging with audiences.
• IAP2 Engagement certificate or other relevant certificate/experience is highly desirable.
