We're currently recruiting an Engineering Manager to join our valued client, a global offshore Oil & Gas company who specialise in FPSO construction. This position is an integral member of the Onshore support organization and will be required to effectively communicate with team members to facilitate safe and efficient operations.
The main objective of this role is to manage engineering throughout the life cycle of the Asset whilst in
operations
The position will initially be based in Singapore with relocation to Darwin in 2025.
- Contribute as member of Operations Management Team to overall HSE performance of assigned facility. Specifically lead Technical / Process Safety elements of facility operations.
- Overall responsible for the quality and timing of the engineering/technical deliverables for assigned Asset
- Responsible for liaising with responsible Corporate and Fleet departments to ensure ongoing
technical support and, resource assignment is obtained to maintain the assets integrity. - Responsible for managing the life cycle design and engineering aspects of the asset on behalf of the
Company from Project Handover to Operations. - Responsible for technical oversight of major modifications to facilities consistent with facility design basis where necessary, Client engineering standards and Management of Change processes.
- Responsible for managing assigned programs of work within an agreed budget and schedule.
- Responsible for maintaining and managing ongoing integrity of design documentation and associated
software tools for the assigned facilities. Ensure documents and data comply with contract requirements, specifications, safety standards, regulatory requirements and Company procedures, - Lead the Asset engineering team, including Staff as well as third parties (subcontractors), including planning, resourcing, ensuring clarity and alignment for all team members.
- Act as a mentor and resource for engineering team, new employees, less experienced colleagues and consultants.
- Responsible for establishing and ongoing management of assigned Contracts including any Engineering Service Contracts
- Support Asset Manager and Technical Maintenance Manager with activities as required including daily
trouble shooting, administration, reporting, life cycle cost and schedule control, invoicing, risk
management, etc.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant Engineering discipline
- Ideally 15 years of experience within the offshore industry, including previous experience as (deputy or area) Engineering Manager for at least one substantial and successful (safe, on budget & schedule, high uptime) offshore operational asset either for an oil & gas operator, an offshore operations contractor or an offshore EPC contractor.
- Experience within Australia Energy Sector or other equivalent highly regulated environments is desirable.
- Any previous FPSO experience will be greatly valued
- Good understanding of major contracts
- Good knowledge of engineering management processes and systems
- Good understanding of Safety Case process and associated regulator interfaces
- Excellent understanding and experience with high hazard facility design
- Good understanding ships and / or FPSOs
- Fluent in English (oral and written)
- Candidates must have Full Australian working rights
- Willingness to reside in Darwin, Australia from 2025
