gforce Employment + Recruitment currently has an excellent opportunity for an individual to undertake a Mechanical Fitting Apprenticeship or 2nd year looking for a change with a fantastic host employer in the Dandenong region. As an apprentice you will be required to learn the trade under the direction of skilled tradespeople while working as part of a team.
We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about completing an Apprenticeship, thrive in structured work processes and have a drive to succeed.
The Role
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Repair and overhaul of passenger rail and industry products
- Operating Lathes and Mills to shape rail components
- Work safely and effectively in manufacturing and engineering
- Use power tools/hand tools
- Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices
- Dismantle, replace and assemble engineering components
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
- A current driver's license would be of benefit
- Logical and methodical thinker with a genuine interest in Engineering systems
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
- A drive to succeed and learn all aspects of the trade.
- Mechanical aptitude
You will be required to work a 38-hour week (including TAFE training) 7:00am - 3:30 pm Monday - Thursday - Friday 7:00 am to 1:30 pm and be willing to work overtime when required.
