Permanant Full-time Opportunity for an Environment Officer - Sustainability Projects to join the team!
The Opportunity:
This role focuses on the delivery and support of Sustainability Projects and programs that align with Council's Community Strategic Plan priorities. The primary objective is to implement practices and initiatives that enhance Council's resource efficiency in energy, waste, and water management. Additionally, the role involves planning and executing environmental community events and education campaigns to raise awareness. Building and maintaining robust relationships with the community and other stakeholders is also a key aspect of this position.

Essential Criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Education, Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in scoping and project managing Sustainability Projects focused on resource management, climate change, stakeholder engagement, and environmental education.
- Ability to negotiate and promote positive environmental outcomes with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Experience in planning and delivering community environmental education events, workshops, and educational resources.
- Autonomy in delivering outcomes within specified timeframes.
- Strong communication skills for preparing grant funding applications, project briefs, presentations, and press releases.
- Sound knowledge of legislation and government policies related to resource efficiency, energy management, and climate change.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively across the organization, projecting a positive attitude to work.
- Current NSW Class C drivers’ licence
- Be willing to take part in Employment Screening Checks before commencement (Working with Children Check & Pre-employment Medical)
