- Temporary Clerk Grade 7/8 role, based in Mascot, Sydney. Available for contract up to 30 June 2025.
Key work you may be leading or supporting include:
- Place based partnerships (PR1): The establishment and implementation of place-based partnerships sites in NSW to drive better community-led outcomes for Aboriginal communities.
- Prioritisation and sector uplift (PR2): Reforming government commissioning systems to prioritise delivery through Aboriginal organisations when providing services to Aboriginal communities; and supporting Aboriginal organisations and communities to lead and direct the delivery and management of services in their communities.
- Independent accountability mechanism (PR3): The design of an independent mechanism to support, monitor, and report on the transformation of mainstream agencies and institutions to be more culturally safe, accountable, and work better in partnership with Aboriginal communities.
Aboriginal Business Roundtables and economic prosperity initiatives (PR5): Delivering Aboriginal Business Roundtables to hear directly from Aboriginal businesses and connect them to opportunities and supports that can support their success, as well as delivering other initiatives in the NSW Roadmap for Aboriginal Business Growth.
- Evaluation strategy: Ensuring programs and services in Aboriginal communities are effectively evaluated in a culturally responsive way to ensure they are delivering the outcomes sought by community, and the findings are used to improve program design and approaches.
You may also work on other areas relevant to Closing the Gap, especially the Priority Reforms.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Project management, including leading projects, engaging with stakeholders and communicating effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, coordinating resources, preparing reports and briefs, provide secretarial and administrative support for meetings, and maintaining project documentation to ensure timely, quality delivery within budget to meet the project outcomes.
- Policy research and analysis, conducting research, identifying trends, preparing briefs, and drafting accurate, succinct departmental and ministerial advice. Your efforts will help meet public policy and state project objectives.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to effectively engage and coordinate with various stakeholders, working groups, and committees.
- Cultural Competency: Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Administrative Proficiency: Skilled in providing high-quality secretarial and administrative support, including meeting coordination and documentation.
