Your opportunity
As the Executive Director you will report directly to the Assistant Director-General, Strategic Engagement. You will be responsible for leading a small specialised team to:
Lead the Department of Education's implementation of the Youth Reform package;
* Lead alignment of the Youth Reform package with existing work of the Department of Education;
* Establish and maintain strong engagement and consultation mechanisms, including with key government agencies, stakeholders and non-government service providers to support implementation of the Youth Reform package; and
* Establish and maintain strong governance and engagement mechanisms including internal monitoring and reporting on risk, implementation and outcomes of the department's response.
Role Responsibilities and Accountabilities
The Executive Director will provide high level advice particularly by working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. The role requires an ability to lead and manage implementation of the Youth Reform package, to deliver government priorities along with excellence in client service delivery.
Financial
* Lead and direct the efficient and effective use of resource allocations for defined work units within agreed controls and budget allocations to ensure high quality outcomes, driving the opportunity to centralise functions and activities where appropriate.
* Identify critical success and risk factors and establish a decisive course of action, to respond to the associated issues and achieve effective solutions within Branch and department budget allocations.
Stakeholder and outcome
* Research, monitor and report on local, national and international developments that are likely to impact on Queensland's implementation of the Youth Reform package.
* Build and sustain effective networks with colleagues, clients and key stakeholders including, the non-state school sector, sustain the national quality agenda and achieve positive outcomes for the department.
* Engage, lead and influence stakeholders to successfully implement change initiatives, reforms and programs to ensure the provision of improvement and high performance.
* Consult and work collaboratively with key stakeholders including: Regional Directors, Assistant Directors-General, Business Partners, regional teams and central office branches, and school communities to strengthen outcomes and ensure consistency of approach; with a focus on delivering outcomes and improvement for the system.
* Drive the delivery of key service transformation, educational reform and culture improvement strategies within and across the department the areas to ensure efficiency, consistency in outcomes aligned to system priorities and key performance measures.
