The Company:
Our client is an excellent, established mid-tier commercial building and refurbishment contractor with an annual turnover of approx. $200M across its offices nationally. Due to continued success in QLD, they are now looking to recruit an Estimator to join it’s Gold Coast office. With a managing Estimator in place and the General Manger working closely on pre-construction, they are flexible with the level of experience candidates possess and will consider applicants with 2+ – 5+years across Estimating and/or Quantity Surveying.
The Position:
By leveraging of existing clients, strong systems and an excellent reputation, you will tender on a range of refurbishment and new build construction projects which will include new build industrial, office fit-outs, retail & shopping centre projects and commercial construction from $3M - $30M.
Your duties will include but not limited to;
- Prepare and develop accurate cost estimates by calculating and prepare quantities
- Ability to read and interpret contractual documents, specifications and drawings
- Preparing take-offs and review quotes.
- Review tender package to ensure all relevant information has been received, assessing scope, risks involved, tender complexity etc.
- RFI’s to the Client to ensure a complete set of tender documents
- Assist with preparing and developing construction methodologies, programs and submission documentation
- Compile letter of offer, tender schedules, program and other items required by the tender
- Completed tenders to be submitted for reviewed with the GM prior to submission
- Use of CUBIT / CostX Estimating software
