In pursuit of our mission, we are currently seeking a passionate Event Partnerships Lead who will contribute to growing the reputation of the Gold Coast as a major events destination.
THE POSITION
This position will work within the Gold Coast’s major event acquisition and attraction program – EGC’s Event Partnerships Program.
You will help curate a diverse and high value portfolio of events for the Gold Coast, by sourcing and securing an array of festivals and events which provide economic and reputational benefits for the city.
You will do this by:
- Supporting the delivery of EGC’s Event Partnerships Program, to produce and foster a distinctive world class portfolio of events that are economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable.
- Developing productive relationships with stakeholders, event organisers, venues, and industry partners.
- Researching, identifying and securing new events for the Gold Coast.
- Negotiating contractual arrangements for the acquisition of major events to the Gold Coast, managing deliverables to ensure benefits are maximised for the city.
- Preparing reports and required documentation to facilitate the program and support the investment of funding into event opportunities.
- Providing leadership across all areas of event acquisition and attraction, researching and staying up to date with the latest trends in event acquisition nationally and internationally.
- Simultaneously managing numerous complex and diverse projects.
- Work collaboratively with all areas of EGC.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

You are a team player with the ability to work autonomously.
You are a strong communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills and confidence working with people from a range of industries, backgrounds and organisations.
You will possess the following skills and experience:
- Minimum 5-year experience working in event, sponsorship and/or grant management.
- Proven experience in achieving successful results in previous roles.
- Experience preparing, negotiating and managing funding and/or sponsorship agreements.
- Track record of successfully managing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective, collaborative relationships, as well as nurture existing stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent organisational, administrative and time management skills.
- A thorough practical knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, and the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of specific CRM software.
- Be confident with your ability to negotiate exceptional outcomes.
- Maintain grace under pressure, with the ability to work autonomously, as well as actively participate as part of a team.
This position can be tailored to accommodate either full-time or part-time (4 days / 30 hours per week) candidates. Whether you're seeking a part-time role or prefer full-time hours, EGC welcomes applications from individuals interested in either capacity.
