Girl Guides Western Australia (GGWA) is a not-for-profit member organisation who are part of Girl Guides Australia, and the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). About the role
Reporting to the CEO, this role supports our amazing and dedicated volunteers to deliver fun, varied and engaging events in metro and regional WA, catering to both youth and adult audiences in accordance with our Strategic Plan and the delivery of the Australian Guiding Program. We have a range of exciting events to be involved in, including leadership weekends, open days, networking events, training, AGM’s, State Awards, Christmas parties, and staff health and wellbeing programs, to name a few. You would also liaise with both national and international teams to incorporate and promote their activities for dissemination locally.
The role oversees the development and coordination of the annual events calendar, ensuring volunteers have the necessary resources, guidance and administration support to manage events seamlessly, while upholding compliance, budgetary and reporting requirements, fostering a culture of continuous improvement contributing to volunteers’ overall satisfaction. The role aims to enhance the profile and membership of Guiding through events and by engaging in promotional activities including social media, email/print mediums, newsletters, and targeted advertising, and producing appealing marketing collateral for events. This is an essential role that builds strong rapport with volunteers, staff and key stakeholders within the Guiding community that can have a genuine impact on the leaders of tomorrow.
The role can be accommodated part-time, minimum 30 hours per week, or full-time.
About you
With your familiarity with Girl Guides, Scouts, or youth-work programs, you will be able to provide exceptional administrative and operational support to our volunteers and the GGWA community to support events using your superior organisational, communication and collaborative skills. We are looking for someone who has experience working in events in a community setting supporting volunteers, and understands the intricacies of their engagement to work effectively together to deliver engaging events. You must have resilience and strong administrative capability with an eye for detail who can multi-task using a proactive attitude, and in support of our vision of empowering young girls and women to discover their potential as future leaders.
Flexible working hours may be required on an irregular basis in order to attend meetings or events that may sit outside of normal working hours.
