The Event Manager plans, implements and manages events components of each product Marketing campaign across the Rockpool and Gelding Street imprints.
Their duty is to create events that builds relationships with clients in order to achieve growth and drive brand awareness and book and rights sales.
They are responsible for the following tasks relating to events; planning, booking, inventory ordering, packing and delivery, sales, order entry and banking, author management and applications, staff coordination, accommodation and travel, customer database collection, meeting invitations and booking. They will work with and advise other members of the marketing teams what they need as marketing collateral for the events (e.g., Flyers /posters/ catalogues/ merchandise, email marketing, social media and publicity)
The events scope would include but not limited to; Mind Body Spirit and Wellness trade shows, Library Events, Speaking Events, Instore Events, Book signings, Rights trade shows (e.g., Frankfurt, London), industry B2B sales events such as INATS and ABA Conference, writer’s festivals and product launches. In some instances, these events would be also include online components from such events.
International and interstate travel is required.

Experience
The role is suited to those with 5+ years in-house book sales and event planning experience. Ideally suited to someone already working in a similar role, or event executive role looking for more challenge and responsibility.
Retail sales background is considered beneficial with an understanding of the publishing process essential. Experience in running campaigns is essential to this role.
You will have outstanding presentation skills, sales experience both B2B and B2C, client and author management skills, experience working with media and event coordination skills.
Excellent organisational, computer efficiency and communication skills and an ability to work both independently and within a team are required. Experience in books is a prerequisite as is a working knowledge of MS Office suites, including MS Excel, MYOB.
This is an extremely fast paced role that requires the candidate to be resourceful and calm and creative under pressure.

Salary: $55,240.77 – $106,974.27 per year
