EVENTS & FUNCTIONS MANAGER
The Role:
SRG is seeking an experienced, energetic, and professional an Events & Functions Manager to join the team to manage functions and events across the group.
The Position:
The successful candidate will work seamlessly across all aspects of the business. You will have a passion for the hospitality and events industry and thrive on working in a team environment where we welcome and value your input.
As an Events & Functions Manager you will oversee the Events Teams to create flawless events and experiences for clients, as well as be an all-rounder when it comes to sales, customer service, marketing, people management and coordination. It’s important that our team is light-hearted, fun, full of energy and hardworking, as that when the magic happens.
In addition to working in a team environment, you will also be expected to work independently at events, including supervising both patrons and vendors, while maintaining high standards throughout the venue. This job will require you to have strong management skills, including confidence in yourself and your personal judgement.
Some of your main duties will include, but are not limited to the following
• Manage day-to-day operations
• Hands on management role, customer service focused
• Recruitment and staff training
• Ensuring high levels of team performance
About you:
• Minimum 3-years’ experience as an Event Coordinator or Restaurant Manager
• Passionate & hard working (it’s definitely not a walk in the park!)
• Enjoy working to high standards in a fast-paced environment
• Highly organised with the ability to supervise, support and assist in operations
• Great time management and communication skills
• Have a can-do attitude and encourage the team
• Current RSA with relevant experience
• First aid qualifications preferred
• Barista experience highly beneficial
• Ability to work long shifts, including early morning and late nights (generally only one long shift per week)
• Able to work a rotating roster (no two weeks will be the same)
• Be able to problem solve and think on your feet!!
• Ability to multi-task, to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure;
• Reliable, punctual and trust worthy;
• High standard of personal presentation and hygiene;
• Must work well in a team environment;
• Positive attitude and passion
• Sound understanding of HACCP & Food and Safety Regulations & requirements;
