Events and Marketing Assistant

About us:
Broadbeach State School P & C Association is a dedicated group of parents and community members who support Broadbeach State School in providing the best possible education and experiences for its students. Our P & C oversee various initiatives that contribute to enhancing the school and community environment for students, families, and staff.
What you’ll do:
You will be our social media and marketing rockstar creating a buzz about our P & C events and initiatives. You’ll also play a key role in helping our events and initiatives come to fruition with hands-on assistance, so together our P & C can continue to make a difference for our students and our school. Your role includes, but is not limited to:
- Creating engaging and exciting content to promote our P & C events and initiatives.
- Managing the scheduling and distribution of promotional material across multiple communication mediums (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, newsletters, flyers, LED Signs, etc.).
- Assisting with the organisation and coordination of P & C events and initiatives.
- Assisting with sourcing donations and/or sponsorships for our P & C.
- Additional ad hoc duties as required to support the P & C Executive and Operations Manager (e.g. administrative duties).
You’re a good fit if you have:
- A minimum of 18 months experience in writing, editing, proofreading, and scheduling content for various communication mediums (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, newsletters, etc.). This includes but is not limited to, creating video and photo content, editing reels, creating social media captions, and creating and editing newsletters.
- Experience with designing in Canva for the purpose of publishing content across multiple communication mediums.
- Demonstrated experience in event planning and coordination.
- The flexibility and availability to attend and work at P & C activities both during school hours and outside of school hours (including some weekend and evening work).
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Experience using Google Workspace applications (e.g. Google Drive, Google docs, Google sheets, Google forms, etc.).
- A pro-active, can-do, positive attitude and a desire to make a difference.
- The ability to interact with a variety of paid and volunteer stakeholders in a positive and helpful manner that always reflects positively on the P & C and our school.
- A current paid Working With Children Blue Card, or are eligible to obtain one, before your employment begins.
