The Australian Bridge Federation (ABF) is looking for an Executive Administrator to join their team.
Bridge is a card game played by over 60 million people worldwide, making it by far the most popular card game ever devised. In Australia, there are around 330 registered bridge clubs boasting a total number of approximately 35,000 members.
The ABF is the peak body for the administration of bridge in Australia. It is a non-profit organisation with its headquarters in Canberra.
This recently created role is part-time working mainly from home. You can be located anywhere in Australia. Hours per week will be between 15 and 25 hours (spread over 3 to 4 days per week), depending on whether or not the bookkeeping duties are included (see below). The ABF will offer the successful candidate flexible working hours that meet their needs. The ABF will also offer home office set-up assistance, if required.
There will be some travel involved including at least 2 weeks in Canberra during the first month of induction.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level support to the Executive Director and other key stakeholders in the ABF
- Manager correspondence and filing systems
- Maintain financial management systems
- Coordinate management meetings
- Prepare documentation
- Support bridge tournament organisers
- Perform routine office duties
- Optionally, perform basic bookkeeping duties (to be negotiated).
Who would be a good fit for this role?
- 5 or more years' experience in an administrative role
- Ability to forge positive relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Effective communication skills
- Well-developed organisational skills
- Good attention to detail
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office with a particular focus on Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Bookkeeping experience, while not essential, will be highly regarded
- Knowledge of bridge highly desirable - either already a player or keen to learn.
