The Department of Social Services is looking to fill several ongoing APS5 Executive Assistant positions and establish a merit pool of experienced and high performing Executive Assistants to support the Senior Executive Service (SES) Band 2 Officer (Group Manager).
The Executive Assistant to the Group Manager is a position of trust that requires sound judgement, outstanding organisational and communication skills, a ‘can-do’, flexible attitude, and the ability to juggle competing priorities.
The Executive Assistant filters and attends to the day-to-day administrative and coordination functions that support the Group Manager’s role and the broader group, so that the Group Manager can focus on leadership, strategy, stakeholder and management functions.
The Executive Assistant works closely and collaboratively with the Executive Officer to ensure the effective coordination of activities and workflow of the office, and directly with the SES to ensure priorities are met. The APS5 Executive Assistant also provides mentoring and peer support to the branch APS4 Executive Assistants.
We are seeking candidates who are motivated self-starters with strong initiative, organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide cross-section of both internal and external stakeholders.
