The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) are embarking on the Green and Gold decade. An exciting time filled with international sporting competitions on home soil, including the Men’s and Women’s Rugby World Cup, the Victorian Commonwealth Games in 2026 and culminating in the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

What will you be accountable for? 

We are looking for experienced Executive Assistants to provide effective administrative support to the Senior Executive. The positions will work directly to the Executive Officer to the CEO and support the executive team to deliver upon strategic and operational priorities. Specific duties include:

  • Providing high level executive support in a professional, accurate and timely manner
  • Performing executive support functions including managing the diary and appointments, inbox and meeting arrangements for Senior Executives
  • Management of correspondence, including, monitoring emails, and responding to enquiries where necessary, collation and follow-up of information and tracking of high-volume activity to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Working cohesively and closely with respective Senior Advisors while assisting other executive support staff as required
  • Being the first point of contact for the Executive Support team, with the provision of clear, timely and effective communication and coordination, greeting visitors, receiving and responding to phone calls, emails and general correspondence.
  • Responsibility for broader administration support, including assisting with the coordination of ministerial and parliamentary requests, as well as reports, submissions, briefs and records management, organising and providing support for meetings including venues and hospitality, preparation and assembly of meeting packs, and arranging travel.
  • Being accountable for organising your workflow, making decisions within defined parameters relating to area of responsibility and seeking guidance when required.
  • Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders of all levels and working collaboratively to achieve the goals and objectives.

This role works closely with the ASC's executive support team to ensure support for the Senior Executive team is managed effectively and in a coordinated manner, promoting good corporate governance.

What you'll need to succeed:

Key to success in this role will be understanding the ASC Strategic Vision to 2034 and High Performance 2032+ Sport Strategy and aligning with the Executive General Manager to execute goals seamlessly. We are looking for someone with:

  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in providing high level executive support and administrative services.
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to plan and manage your workload, resolves issues as they arise and seek guidance when required.
  • Sound judgement, discretion, and integrity including the ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to take responsibility for accurate completion of work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to develop good working relationships internally and externally.

Eligibility 

To be eligible for this position applicants are required to be Australian citizens only and must be able to obtain and maintain an AGSVA Security Clearance. 

As part of the Commonwealth Child Safety Framework the ASC is committed to being a Child Safe Organisation and leading the way in Child Safety across the sports sector. This position requires a Working with Vulnerable/Children People check to obtain employment.

Notes

  • Should a merit pool be established for this position, it may be used to fill ongoing or fixed term opportunities as they arise within 18 months from the date advertised.
