The Role
The acquisition of conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines is an historic and transformative endeavour for Australia. The whole-of-nation effort to safely and securely deliver the cutting edge nuclear-powered submarine program will transform Australia’s economic and national security landscape for decades to come.
The duties of an APS 5 Executive Assistant in the Australian Submarine Agency include the following:
- Accountable for the delivery of executive support including 'front of office' functions, managing the appointment diary and meeting arrangements for the Senior Executive Service.
- Advise, arrange, coordinate and reconcile all aspects of domestic and international travel in-line with Defence travel policy for Senior Executive Service Officers.
- Understand and utilise with internal and external professional knowledge and experience to improve processes and work outcomes.
- Demonstrate and apply ASA administration policy and procedures
- Liaise with stakeholders and visitors of all levels, building good working relationships and providing a point of contact for assistance and general enquiries.

An APS 5 Executive Assistant will be accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility. They will interpret and provide advice within the administration function area based on legislation, policy and procedures. They will undertake specialist research and analysis, conduct reviews and perform procedural, clerical, administrative support work to achieve results.
