Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating day-to-day business of the Corporate Counsel, including meeting organisation, seminars, workshops, calendar / diary management and travel itineraries
- Managing unit correspondence, coordinating all incoming correspondence requests, monitoring due dates and ensuring adherence to Departmental style guides before arranging appropriate approval.
- Managing critical responses on behalf of the Corporate Counsel, and Legal Officers as necessary, including liaison and negotiation with stakeholders to ensure urgent issues are identified, analysed, and referred to the appropriate officers for action or response within designated timeframes.
- Assisting with financial activities on behalf of the Corporate Counsel and other Legal Officer staff, including travel expenses, allowance claims, taxi vouchers, purchase orders, RTAC's and procurement of goods and services required.
- Managing filing systems for the Office of Corporate Counsel and Legal team by:
o Regular review and maintenance of filing systems to ensure compliance with Recordkeeping Standards (DMS / Content Manager), legislation and other Departmental policies;
o Management of cabinet-in-confidence documents;
o Creating reports as necessary, to aid strategic running and management of the unit.
- Working as part of the Legal Business Support Team and undertaking administrative tasks as required, including processing accounts payable and accepting service of legal documents.
Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
