The Public Relations Coordinator works within the Executive Team, working closely with the Senior Public Relations Executive and Management on the planning, development and implementation of public relations activities, campaigns and communications for the Australia Zoo Group (Australia Zoo, Wildlife Warriors and The Crocodile Hunter Lodge).

Duties May Include –
- Identify and implement local and national media opportunities for Australia Zoo and its brands, in conjunction with and as directed by the Senior Public Relations Executive.
- Assistance with the concept, development and execution of all media activities, including writing and distributing approved media releases and statements.
- Facilitate being a media contact for Australia Zoo and correctly manage all media enquiries.
- Ensure Zoo media protocol is adhered to when media and film crews are onsite at Australia Zoo.
- Assist with the coordination of publicity shoots and media launches at Australia Zoo, as directed.
- Facilitate media famils for industry journalists and maintain appropriate follow up.
- Assist with media release preparation and distribution.
- Support the Senior Public Relations Executive with weekly reporting, including evaluation of publicity values via media monitors and other evaluation channels.
- Preparation of briefing documents for media engagements.
- Develop good working relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Assist with any public speaking or publicity, ensuring that information is accurate and within the company’s policies.
- Liaise with Senior Management for all animal related requirements.
- Assist with filming duties for film and television projects.
- Assist with content writing for Australia Zoo’s Crikey Magazine.
- Contributing to social media content and monitoring.
Essential Criteria –
- Full availability, including weekends, public holidays and school holidays
- Current 1st Aid Qualifications
- A high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to engage, negotiate and communicate effectively with all levels of staff and guests to ensure professional ongoing relationships and program development.
