The Department for Health and Wellbeing (DHW) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to drive the value of health data to support the effective management of the South Australian public health system.
DHW is an administrative unit under the Public Sector Act 2009 with responsibility for setting strategic direction and statewide policy to ensure the performance of the SA public health system. SA Health is how the public health system is described as a whole. It includes DHW, the ten Local Health Networks, and Statewide Clinical Support Services, SA Ambulance Service, SA Dental Service, Prison Health, and Drug and Alcohol Services SA.
The role
The Executive Director, Data, Analytics and Insights is a strategic leadership role that will have a pivotal impact in enhancing healthcare delivery across South Australia. Reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Executive Commissioning and Performance, you will be responsible for the development, management, and delivery of data, information, and analytics services that support strategic planning within the Department.
You will drive strategic change and lead the integration of various data and analytics functions to ensure that SA Health maximises the use of its data and leverages analytics to drive evidence-based decisions. You will also be responsible for leading and implementing a contemporary data governance framework to ensure data availability and management across SA Health.
Key requirements
- Excellent communication, collaboration and delegation skills with the ability to influence and manage change.
- Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate others to achieve effective results within tight timeframes and in a changing environment.
- Sound problem solving, quantitative and analytical skills with the demonstrated ability to analyse and conceptualise problems, formulate and execute appropriate solutions and negotiate successful outcomes.
- Extensive senior leadership experience working with complex data.
- An appropriate tertiary level qualification.
Essential Screening Requirements
- A National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment)
Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact) SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
