About this Opportunity
Reporting to the Assistant Director-General of the Strategy & Performance Branch of the Department of Education, this role will lead a team of 50 FTE and Contractors across a significant, $70m transformation project. While a strong technical skill-set and understanding of ICT delivery will be highly regarded, it is essential the Executive Director has demonstrable experience in creating a vision and engaging across a large organisation and diverse stakeholders to enable effective delivery of a large transformational program.
It is paramount the Executive Director creates an environment where end-users in schools, regions and the department feel confident they can readily access the information they require to make informed decisions. For this to happen, the Executive Director, through their delivery team will need to create the environment where data is accessible and integrated through an enterprise-wide platform underpinned by robust governance arrangements and quality assurance processes.
About the Role
As the Executive Director, Education Queensland Insights Platform Program, you will:
- Provide executive leadership in the areas of information management, organisational change management, programme and project management, and governance to successfully deliver a program of works to establish an enterprise level data platform, underpinned by robust data governance and quality control processes to enable enhanced analytics and reporting capabilities.
- Provide executive leadership to design, develop and embed capability building practices, processes and tools to better support schools, regions and central office in making evidence-informed decisions, and help drive high performance and accountability through good governance and a sustainable approach to continually mature the way data is captured, analysed and used.
What we are looking for:
- Demonstrated leadership success in large, complex organisations.
- Extensive experience across public, private, or not-for-profit sectors.
- Strong background in Strategy and policy implementation, service delivery, and client service.
- Proven track record as an agent of change in challenging environments.
- Ability to foster a confident and capable workforce.
Importantly, this role will deliver a critical program to facilitate an approach that enables and underpins an ability to access data to drive predictive models and future-focused thinking leading to better outcomes for children and young people.
