Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) is part of the Courts and Tribunals division within the Department of Justice and Attorney-General (DJAG).
As Executive Director you will use your exceptional leadership skills to lead QCAT during a time of transformative change focusing on excellence in service delivery and improving access to justice. You will identify opportunities to improve, streamline and modernise systems and processes.
You will be responsible for the administrative functions required to support the delivery of justice in QCAT in line with relevant legislation, policies, and delegated authority, ensuring adherence to ethical decision-making principles and standards.
This role holds statutory duties as Principal Registrar under the QCAT Act 2009.
As well as other key responsibilities outlined in the job description, you will:
- Provide exceptional strategic leadership of a complex organisation with a focus on effective budget management and resource utilisation to drive improved service delivery and access to Justice.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with members of the Tribunal and foster positive working relationships between these members, QCAT staff and the broader court and tribunal service.
- Collaborate with stakeholder agencies to develop and drive reform activities and initiatives to improve service delivery across the justice system.
Reporting to the Deputy Director General, Courts and Tribunals, you will lead a team of approximately 167 FTEs through 5 direct reports with a financial remit of $34M. For this role we are seeking candidates with a proven record of leadership success in a large and complex organisation, preferably with demonstrated experience in managing significant public sector reform initiatives. There will be an emphasis on justice administration and expertise in leading high level stakeholder engagement and driving complex problem solving to advance service delivery will be highly regarded.
