NB: This pivotal role can be Sydney or Melbourne based.

The role

As the Executive Director, Sector Lead Global Banks, Client Coverage based in Australia, you will be responsible for fostering and developing relationships with our current customers in the sector and providing multi-product global solutions. You will work closely with our Client Management & Execution (CME) team and Transaction Banking and Enterprise Payment colleagues globally, credit and product partners across Global Markets and Capital Markets to drive superior client outcomes, whilst also developing a deep understanding across all products relevant to the industry.

You will also be involved in the ongoing critical review of the portfolio for valued and strategic relationships across Bank Clients.

This role reports into the Executive, Financial Institutions, Government & Technology Sector.

Key expectations of the role:

Customer: Customer engagement is a key focus at NAB. Expectations are that the successful candidate will put the customer at the heart of everything they do, provide consistent exceptional customer service and advocate for the customer within NAB. Colleagues: Lead and develop the individuals in the Global Banks team that cover global bank relationships and correspondent bank product market penetration in multiple geographies (Australia, Singapore, London, New York). Lead people through coaching and thoughtful feedback and build a team first culture aligned with NAB and Corporate and Institutional strategy.

Risk: Role model risk awareness and exceptional understanding of key risk factors for the business (AML/CTF risk and Credit risk). Hold individuals to highest standard in relation to these risks and support education and remediation of any risk related development areas.

Key Stakeholders: Regional Heads of Client Coverage in Asia, UK and US, Executive Transaction Banking and Enterprise Payments, Executive, Markets, Executive Capital Markets, Head of Network Management, Head of Funding NAB Treasury, Head of Balance Sheet Management NAB Treasury

Strategy: Continue execution of current strategy to grow payment and deposit volume and develop new strategies to grow Markets/DCM revenues. Build strategic partnerships with select banks where mutual beneficial rationale exists.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Collaborating and partnering between Client Coverage, CME, Credit and Product Specialists ensuring a seamless experience for the client
  • Proactively monitoring risk and assurance requirements within agreed Risk Appetite criteria and managing non-compliance in a timely manner
  • Collaborate and work closely with key product, portfolio management and credit partners to deliver strong client outcomes and drive portfolio growth.
  • Coach and mentor team members to build a high performing team and actively manage performance.
  • Contribute to the sector strategy in region as it relates to Bank clients, ensuring alignment on this globally in conjunction with international colleagues.
  • Work with product partners and specialists to deliver the best of NAB to our chosen clients by executing on comprehensive and strategic client account plans.
  • Work with colleagues internationally to coordinate the global coverage model for our bank clients.
  • Work with product partners and specialist to critically evaluate the CORE client segment, determining clients to both retain and exit.
  • Protect, grow, and originate International Clearing business in AUD and NZD for our Platinum and Premier+ clients.
  • Provide ongoing origination, service account management and administrative support for the Correspondent Banking product to clients.
  • Represent C&IB and the FGT super sector at client, industry and stakeholder regional and global forums both internally and externally including risk/management committees and conferences.
  • Attain/Maintain requisite DCA accreditation and support the portfolio director to ensure high Credit Risk quality across the subject portfolio.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and conduct requirements consistent with the local regulatory environment.
