Skills & Experience
- 3 to 5 years’ experience as an Executive Housekeeper or in a similar Housekeeping leadership position
- Experience within a medium to large Hotel/Accommodation operation preferably within at a 4 to 5-star standard
- Demonstrated experience in a hands-on role and a high level of service standard across department
- Previous experience working with Property Management Systems (PMS)
- Previous experience using Optii system advantageous
- Experience in controlling and maintaining budgets, forecasts and payroll functions, along with operating supplies, replacements, and consumables
- Capability of working in and managing time efficiently in a fast paced and high volume operations
- Ability to lead and motivate a large team while driving employee engagement, development and productivity
- Demonstrated understanding of WHS standards and experience leading adherence to policies and procedures in creating a safe working environment
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders, internal and external
- Excellent personal presentation and a high level of professionalism
- Enthusiasm, friendly nature and results orientated
- Ability to handle high pressure situations and adapt to ever changing operations
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the Housekeeping Team while liaising with Hotel departments for all cleaning requirements
- Ensure rosters are costed to forecasted business levels and reflective in the payroll system
- Approve shifts daily and adjust future rosters to changes in business demand
- Allocation of daily workloads for room attendants, houseman and public area cleaners
- Allocate and prepare VIP and Sales site rooms daily
- Drive recruitment, training and development, ensuring a high level of performance and service standard throughout the team
- Manage staff uniform inventories for all Hotel staff and coordinating with other departments to ensure appropriate levels of stock
- Maintain exceptional guest service by conducting daily walk throughs to ensure cleanliness is aligned to brand standards each and every day
- Lead and ensure compliance in all aspects of WHS
About the Role
The Executive Housekeeper position is the leader of the ‘engine room’ of the Hotel, a vital role in maintaining property standards are aligned to our guest’s expectations. As a leader within the Hotel and Rooms Division department, the role is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness across all aspects of the property including guest’s rooms, food and beverage outlets and public areas. It is a full-time position reporting directly to the Rooms Division Manager and leading a team of approximately 40 plus staff.
The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude with experience in hands-on operations, has an exceptional eye of detail and results driven, with an ability to collaborate and maintain positive relationships across all departments.
