Primary Role:
The Executive Manager (EM) WH&S and Emergency Management is a pivotal role within the Organisational Capability and Risk directorate. As a newly established position, the EM will spearhead the implementation of a comprehensive focus on Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S), Quality Systems, and Emergency Management across all facets of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement goals, services, and programs to drive innovative and effective solutions in WH&S, Quality Systems, and Emergency Management.
- Provide leadership to establish and maintain effective service teams dedicated to fulfilling the responsibilities of the EM.
- Build and develop a collaborative team to work across programs and departments, fostering a culture of understanding, opportunity identification, and implementation of industry-leading solutions.
- Liaise directly with key stakeholders of the Council to ensure proactive relationships and effective communication.
- Act as the Department spokesperson when required, addressing media and community groups in alignment with the Council's media policy.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or Emergency Management are highly regarded.
- Extensive experience and expertise in successfully operating and enhancing similar programs within large and diverse organisations.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve objectives.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, including experience in public speaking and media engagement.
- Proven track record in driving cultural change and implementing best business practices.
