Tuga Parties is a second generation baker that has been in Sydney for over 35 years making the best pastries, but most famously known for its amazing Portuguese Tarts. The business continues to grow as we prepare to open our new production kitchen in Marrickville. We are looking for a Senior Pastry Chef/Chef or Baker to lead our Bakery Production.
As the Executive Production Chef for Tuga Pastries you will be responsible for managing the teams of chefs and bakers who develop and produce our range of wholesale, retail and catering products. You will have a large role as a leader and mentor to our team of Head and Sous chefs and other department managers. As Tuga moves into its next phase of operations in its brand new Marrickville production facility, cafe and restaurant you will play a key role in helping transition the business into a larger scale operation.

Essential Knowledge and Experience
● Proven track record: Demonstrated success in running a production facility within the cakes, pastry and/or bread industry.
● Leadership skills: Experience in leading and managing large teams, fostering a high-performance culture, setting goals, and providing mentorship.
● Strategic planning: Proficiency in developing and executing strategies aligned with company goals.
● Analytical skills: Proficiency in analysing sales data, market trends, and consumer insights to make informed decisions, adapt strategies, and optimise production performance.
● Cross-functional collaboration: Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as sales, operations, and finance to ensure alignment of strategies and objectives.
● Budget management: Skills in managing wage budgets efficiently, allocating resources effectively, and delivering strong return on investment (ROI).
● Industry knowledge: A comprehensive understanding of the pastry and Bread industry, including trends, consumer preferences, competition, and regulatory landscape.
● Skill set and experience: Minimum of 5 years experience running a large scale bakery that produces pastries, breads and cakes.
● Excellent communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey strategies, insights, and reports to senior management and diverse stakeholders.
Available to work 7 days a week, both day and night depending on the needs of the business (Weekly average of 40 hours across 5 days).
