Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, and quality control, to ensure the highest standards of culinary excellence are maintained.
- Collaborate with management to develop and execute seasonal menus that showcase locally sourced ingredients and innovative culinary techniques.
- Manage kitchen staff, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation, to foster a cohesive and high-performing team.
- Implement and enforce strict adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment at all times.
- Work closely with suppliers and vendors to source high-quality ingredients while managing inventory and controlling costs to maximize profitability.
Requirements:
- Cooking Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in culinary techniques and a passion for creating delicious, visually appealing dishes.
- Leadership & Motivation: Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to inspire and motivate a team to achieve culinary excellence.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, management, and suppliers.
- Relevant Qualifications: Certification in industry skills, such as Cert III or above, demonstrating a solid foundation in culinary arts and techniques.
- Team Player: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with others to achieve common goals.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen operations, from food preparation to plating and presentation.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in a culinary leadership role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality setting.
