About the role

We are experiencing high demand for our services as we continue to build on our reputation as an outstanding and experienced specialist group of professionals. Due to this rapid growth, we are looking for a Manager with extensive experience to provide External Audit services to a range of clients in conjunction with the wider Assurance and Risk Advisory team in Canberra. In addition to the technical aspects, this role will support business growth, manage team workflow, and monitor the development of junior team members.

  • Prepare tenders and proposals for both panel and non-panel arrangements and conduct audits in accordance with the International Standards, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Oversee and perform relevant audit engagements in line with the relevant Australian Auditing and Accounting Standards.
  • Perform financial statement audits, reviews, and specific procedure engagements for diverse entities, including government, private companies, not-for-profit organisations, and statutory entities.
  • Be a trusted point of contact for clients, addressing their inquiries on complex business advice and proactive strategies, and liaise with external agencies.
  • Assist in setting and monitoring performance and development-related goals through feedback and coaching.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of standards.
Desired Skills and Experience

About you

  • Bachelor of Accounting/Commerce or Finance or a Business-related degree.
  • CA/CPA qualifications.
  • Experienced, proactive, and team-focused professional with recent External Audit Manager experience is required.
  • Proven history of delivering high-quality audit engagements.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Exceptional communicator, with methodical problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and auditing standards.
