The Royal Perth Hospital Research Foundation (RPHRF) is a for purpose Foundation supporting research linked to Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) as part of the East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS).
We operate out of our own research hub in our building on the Royal Perth Hospital Campus, engaging with the Hospital and other organisations including research institutes, universities, other for purpose and funding bodies. Our facilities include laboratories, collaborative workspaces, clinical suites, and meeting spaces.
As one of the leading grant-giving organisations in WA, we have a proud history of funding substantial research projects with established programs to deliver improved health outcomes for Western Australians.
Our work connects us with researchers, clinicians and members of the wider community who are excited by our vision to deliver improved health outcomes for Western Australians. Our goal is to fund a wide range of research activities that extend from laboratory-based medicine to clinical research for translation into better health outcomes for the community.
The role : Facilities and Assets Officer
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Facilities & Assets Officer to join our team at this time of exciting growth. Reporting to the Head of Facilities, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance and repairs of our Facilities and responsible for coordinating and overseeing the development, implementation and monitoring of maintenance tasks and minor site improvements.
You will be a hands-on person and play a vital role in ensuring that the facilities are well-maintained, safe, and functional. With a proactive attitude you will have the ability to positively engage with staff, researchers, and their visitors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee all aspects of facility maintenance, including scheduling, inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance activities ensuring a high quality of workmanship.
- Maintain the CMMS ensuring it is up to date and contains accurate asset records.
- Work with external suppliers to ensure the timely completion and submission of job reports and invoicing.
- In collaboration with the Head of Facilities monitor contractor compliance with relevant WHS regulations and standards.
- Work closely with the Head of Facilities, coordinating and undertaking maintenance analysis, including responding to requests, determining responsibility for works, estimating costs and specifying the work required.
- Participate in after hours on call roster.
- Be willing to participate in on-the-job and certified training and apply new skills to your role.
- Have a willingness and ability to be hands-on. You will be capable of attending to minor building maintenance tasks such as minor painting, small handyman jobs and undertake general building maintenance duties.
- Be responsive to faults, failures and property damage identified and reported by staff and tenants.
- Work closely with the Head of Facilities to ensure that maintenance efforts are aligned to strategic priorities.
- Contribute to the development of facility management procedures and work instructions.
A pre-employment medical will be required due to the manual handling nature of some of this role’s tasks.
