ABOUT THE POSITION
RetireAustralia invites you to become a valued Maintenance Person within our warm and vibrant community at The Verge Retirement Village in Burleigh on a full-time basis. As a vital member of our maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our residents enjoy a safe, comfortable, and beautiful living environment overlooking the picturesque Burleigh Golf Course.
Reporting to the Village Manager, this position is responsible for:
- Conducting meticulous inspections and upholding the village’s facilities to the highest standards.
- Facilitating general maintenance tasks, including pest control measures, plumbing work, painting, flooring repairs, air-conditioning system maintenance and carpentry work.
- Coordinating and overseeing trades contractors to ensure proficient and cost-effective management of repairs.
- Inspecting property regularly and assess maintenance issues.
- Adhering to Workplace, Health and Safety standards and report any safety or security concerns.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
As part of the application process, you will be required to provide a National Police Check, proof of right to work in Australia, verification of identification and qualifications, and participate in pre-employment assessment.
- Trade Certificate or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge in general maintenance and facilities management.
- National Police Check (or ability to obtain) – no older than 6 months from date of issue.
- First Aid & CPR Certificate (or ability to obtain).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test.
