About the role
The Facilities Manager is responsible for leading and managing the building and tenancies, ensuring our General Practices and Support Offices are well maintained, safe, and operating effectively and efficiently. This will include management and oversight of general maintenance, project management of Clinic re-fits/relocations and/or closing the clinic.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the strategic planning and execution of cost-effective, high-quality services encompassing maintenance, cleaning, security, waste removal, car parking, utility management, refurbishments, and Clinic closures.
- Lead the oversight of facilities master planning, capital projects, new constructions, and renovation initiatives.
- Engage in high-level interactions and negotiations with service providers, regulatory agencies, governmental bodies, and internal stakeholders.
- Manage critical services such as air conditioning, boilers, elevators, and fire safety protocols.
- Administer building contracts and service agreements while ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures for contractor engagement.
- Implement thorough monitoring and control measures for energy and water consumption.
- Develop comprehensive annual budget proposals for facility needs and enforce budgetary controls to ensure timely and within-budget completion of projects.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and devise strategies to mitigate risks pertinent to facility operations.
- Offer expertise in maintenance and budgeting, inventory management, cost analysis of goods and labour, and optimisation strategies.
About you
We are seeking a Facilities Management professional looking for their next opportunity. The successful incumbent will have demonstrated experience in change management, leadership, and exceptional stakeholder management and negotiating skills.
Key skills you will bring include:
- Strong understanding of legislation and accreditation standards, including Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, and Tasmania building codes and regulations, Australia Standards, and WH&S legislation.
- Application of sound financial management principles and practices to ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Proven track record of assuming ownership and responsibility for project deliverables, demonstrating accountability at all stages.
- Aptitude for maintaining discretion and exercising sound judgment when handling sensitive and confidential matters.
- Strong project management skills, with a focus on timely development of strategies, projects, and programs, complemented by effective consultant management abilities.
- Demonstrated expertise in supervising building works, managing contractors, and overseeing contract preparation and administration.
- Ability to identify stakeholder needs and preferences, leveraging this insight to inform decision-making processes and prioritise initiatives effectively.
- Interstate travel is a key component in meeting the Key Performance Indicators of the success of the role.
