- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of facility management services, including supervision and tasking of all site support team personnel.
- Ensure facilities and related equipment are available and operational to meet requirements.
- Liaise with all stakeholders and provide project coordination support for all fit-out changes / upgrades and plant & equipment modifications.
- Monitoring operational budgets and reporting on budgetary issues or concerns.
- Support and contribute to the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to improve facility management operations.
- Proactively engage stakeholders to ensure that facilities meet business needs and exceed expectations by providing excellent levels of customer service.
- Undertake regular travel within Australia, as required to fulfil the requirements of the role.
- Provide leadership and direction to the national facilities team and reviews all operations to accomplish national strategy goals while aligning with other functional departments to ensure efficiency.
- Providing primary input to hiring, promotion, performance management, and rewards decisions for direct reports.
- Proven ability to think and act in an innovative and strategic manner, take the initiative, and manage risk.
- Requires a University Degree in Facilities Management or Project Management, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience (when a University Degree is held)
- Strong specialised knowledge of modern facility operation practices and experience leading and managing the execution of policy and processes, national strategies, and contract management
- Strong experience in managing Facilities Operations including asset management, maintenance planning, financial forecasting and maintaining an operational financial and executing projects and delivering in a timely manner
- Demonstrated experience liaising and negotiating with contractors, trade providers and facilities professionals
- An understanding of relevant WHS, compliance and risk management requirements and sustainability principles and practices
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure in a high-volume work environment to fixed deadlines
- Experience in infrastructure operations within an Australian Government security accredited facility is highly desired
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Australian Government (Defence) Security Clearance up to NV1 - eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva
