Wilmar Sugar has an exciting opportunity for a ManagerOperations who has strong leadership experience and stakeholder management skills to join our Operations team located at Inkerman Mill in the Burdekin region.
Reporting into the Group Manager, this role is the most senior operations role onsite and is the leader of the site leadership team. The Manager Operations is responsible for planning, leading, and monitoring ongoing cane crushing and sugar recovery operations to support the achievement of the annual factory output requirements. The Manager Operations is also responsible for ensuring sustainable operations for the factory considering the surrounding community and the health and safety of the personnel onsite.
Responsibilities of this role will include:
- Ensuring the achievement of business production objectives by optimising the site contribution to the business operational outcomes.
- Analysing and reporting on factory performance and provide recommendations to the Group Manager -Operations (Sugar)
- Having responsibility for the coordination of factory cleaning intermissions, factory shutdowns, engagement of engineering support, prioritisation of urgent maintenance work, pre-season commissioning program, cleaning / washdown activities and operations throughout the crushing season
- Working closely with the Group Manager - Operations (Sugar) and P&T team to develop factory plans, goals, and production strategies.
- Being supportive of change, demonstrate initiative and work well under pressure.

- Hold tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline or significant equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of 3 years in a senior operational role within a heavy industrial environment, sugar industry experience would be highly regarded
- Have experience in safety management systems and leading people
- Familiar with budgeting processes
- Proficiency utilising SAP or similar
