We have an exciting opportunity for a Family Intervention Worker to join our In-Home Family Support team on a full time or part time basis.
The Family Intervention Worker is responsible for providing outreach intervention for children, young people, families and carers involved in the statutory child protection system. You will be part of a small multi-disciplinary team working alongside families to support children's wellbeing from a strength's perspective.
Full training is provided and includes Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), CALM, cultural awareness and a comprehensive induction including assessment and planning tools.
In this role, you will:
- Work collaboratively with families, stakeholders and natural support systems to ensure a holistic wrap around service.
- Mentor families by providing practical parenting strategies and links with specialist and community supports.
- Develop and review purposeful and tailored therapeutic intervention plans to guide the work carried out by the In-Home Family Support team.
- Undertake flexible home visits, which may occasionally be scheduled outside of core business hours.
- Enjoy flexibility to work out of either our Eagle Farm or Rocklea office.

About You
You will be a great fit for this role if:
- You are child-focussed and passionate about resourcing families with the skills they need to thrive.
- Hold a Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services or other relevant human services degree.
- Have experience working alongside young people or families, particularly in providing intervention around challenging behaviours.
- You are seeking to build and enhance your skills in developing effective ways to work with families.
- You are a team player interested in learning and growing.
- Have experience recording accurate and succinct records in line with privacy and confidentiality policies and have intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office suite).
- Hold a Queensland Driver’s Licence, current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain), and ability to obtain any other legislatively required personal history screening checks.
