Family Youth andChildren Partnerships and Project Officer

  • Salary Range Band 6 $93,459 - $101,873 plus 11% Super (pro rata)
  • Permanent Part-time, 30.4 hrs per week  
  • Located at St Kilda Town Hall with some flexible working arrangements possible.

The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. About the Role

The City of Port Phillip has made a strong commitment to children and families through the Children’s Services Policy, which recognises the value of families connecting and building relationships through early years services, playgroups, toy libraries, libraries, public spaces and events.

The Family Youth and Children Partnerships and Projects Officer will form part of a suite of services designed to maximise positive health, educational and wellbeing outcomes for children, through leading collaborative partnerships through strong governance and Project management skills, to ensure families have access to contemporary, safe, accessible, sustainable and well promoted services and opportunities to thrive.  With an attention to detail and strong organisational skills, this role will lead in the coordination of activities that require a community first and proactive approach.  

Duties:

  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships, providing governance support and advice to early years service providers
  • Provide parent information leadership and Project coordination 
  • Encourage and support innovation, sustainability and community connectedness in service delivery that supports delivery of Council’s policies, plans and priorities for children and families.  

Skills and Experience 

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (a community development approach is required for the role) 
  • Demonstrated capacity in project coordination of community development activities
  • Demonstrated understanding of local government, policy and service development in the families, Youth and Children sector
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate meaningful community consultation and collaboration
