The Role: The Field Assistant is a hands-on role and responsible for supporting the environmental activities undertaken at TNC’s Great Australia Mine (GAM). This includes but is not limited to duties associated with environmental monitoring, environmental inspections, weed and vegetation management. Key responsibilities Complete weed control activities at various sites in a safe manner, in accordance with approved schedules, procedures and SWIs. Maintain control schedules (annual/monthly) to ensure compliance with weed management plans. Complete weekly and monthly environmental site inspections. Ensure equipment is maintained in safe, working order. Provide field support to environmental team and consultants as required. Assist with site environmental monitoring programs and associated data management (e.g. surface water, groundwater, air quality, sediment, and potable water monitoring. Always maintain a high standard of housekeeping. Identify and manage hazards and risks associated with tasks being completed.
