Your new company
Our client is one of the largest water Suppliers serving water to irrigators, power generators, and urban water corporations. They cover 88,000 square kilometres, or 37% of the state, stretching from the South Australian border to the New South Wales border, and from the Great Dividing Range to the Victorian coastline.We are looking for a motivated Field officer to join their busy team for 4 months with a potential extension.
Location: Werribee or Mitcham Office. Field work will be around Central Melbourne Werribee - Drouin.
Your new role
- Undertake inspections and provide reports for referred licence applications.
- Monitor stream flows and groundwater levels, implementing rosters/restrictions in accordance with management rules.
- Undertake field inspections and complete reports for new applications
- Conduct waterway determinations.
- Respond to environmental issues such as contamination and spills as required.
- Within delegated authorities manage unregulated water systems.
- Inspect and report on water use and infrastructure in regard to licencing activities.
- Undertake meter reading in a timely, accurate and efficient manner, liaising with customers as required.
- Attain and maintain certification in non-urban water meter installation and maintenance.
- Inspect meter installations to ensure compliance with licence conditions, the appropriate specifications and standards, and certify installations.
- Implement metering programs, including meter maintenance and meter replacement as required.
- Ensure sound administrative records management and reporting for all compliance matters.
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualifications in Natural Resource Management and Certificate in Water Industry Operations
- Current Victorian Driving Licence
- Ability to quickly develop and apply sound knowledge of the Water Act 1989
- Excellent investigative skills to research and resolve customer and public complaints about alleged unauthorised activities.
- Demonstrated capability to compile accurate and detailed reports using a variety of systems and software
- Technologically savvy with the ability to operate or quickly learn software programs, such as Victorian Water Register, GIS, ECM, mobile computing devices, data loggers and GPS
