Field Services Technical Officer - Maintenance

The role

As part of our Deployable Health & Infrastructure group, the Field Services Technical Officer - Maintenance will test, diagnose, repair, maintain and upgrade a wide range of electrical and electro-mechanical equipment.

Further, the successful candidate will:

• Participate in the ongoing support, repairs, maintenance and upgrade of Deployable Health complex items
• Assist in offsite activities and work at Defence units
• Assist in test, acceptance and set to work of hardware at Support Centre and Defence installations.
• Take an active role in the hardware maintenance and support work carried out in the Saab Workshop and
• test sites
• Comply with legislation and Company policies, processes and instructions, including those relating to non-discrimination, safety and duty of care and the quality management system
• Ensure adherence to approved work practices

Flexible work arrangements such as 9 day fortnight will be considered for this role.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

• Industry experience in a similar engineering environment, supporting medium subsystems or group of smaller subsystems and/or equipment
• Experience with workmanship inspection and adherence to stipulated standards
• Proficient in the use of PCs and relevant software applications (Microsoft Office Suite etc)
• Experience in circuit and wiring fault finding in industrial systems (cPCI, VME)
• Experience in installation, maintenance and repair of heating, cooling and refrigeration systems
• Experience working within a Defence maintenance environment

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
