Field Technician/Mechanical Engineering Technician
We currently looking for a Field Technician/Mechanical Engineering Technician.
TerraQuip Drilling Equipment is an Australian piling rigs supplier to the local piling contractors. We are the exclusive authorised dealer of IMT piling rigs, covering Australia and New Zealand.
Job responsibilities include:
· Connect and install and/or disassemble mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools, controls, and hydraulic and pneumatic power systems
· Observe, test, collect data and prepare the report for equipment maintenance tasks
· Interpret and assist with the preparation of drawings, plans, and designs
· Select suitable tools and equipment required for each task, ensuring optimal efficiency and accuracy throughout project completion
· Estimate material costs and quantities essential for project execution, and identify necessary machine requirements to facilitate seamless operations
· Perform field tests to guarantee the functionality, safety, and quality of mechanical and hydraulic systems and components.
· Collect, analyze, and interpret data derived from various tests and experiments to formulate well-informed decisions and recommendations
· Organize and supervise the inspection and maintenance of activities of machines, ensuring their optimal performance and longevity while strictly adhering to industry standards and regulations
· Perform major equipment overhauls independently or in collaboration with external contractors and vendors.
· Present and actively participate in project reviews to ensure the fulfillment of project deliverables.
· Understand customer modification requests and provide detailed schedules
· Adapt products in accordance with change control requests from customers
About you
· Qualification: AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or similar
· Experience: at least two years of relevant experience within the similar industry.
· Proficiency in mechanical design and diagnostic testing
· Extensive knowledge of assembling, installing, and repairing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls.
· IMT piling rigs background is an advantage
· Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally.
· Great organisational and time management skills.
· Work collaboratively within the team as well as autonomously
What we offer
The role is for a full-time position with an annual salary between $70,000 - $75,000
Our company may consider TSS 482 visa sponsorship for people with relevant qualifications and experience.
