Starting in July this year, we’ll be working across Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs and right down the Mornington Peninsula, delivering routine maintenance, emergency response and defect rectification works, as well as network refurbishment and upgrade projects, under a major long-term contract with the Victorian Government.

How You'll Contribute:

Reporting to the Business & Performance (B&P) Manager, the Finance Coordinator supports timely receipt of payment for the VRMC Services and compliance with Contract and Service Stream financial reporting requirements. 

Specifically, the Finance Coordinator is accountable for: 

  • Submitting payment claims to TfV for completed works and invoicing when claim is approved 
  • Monitoring outstanding invoices, liaising with TfV representatives to ensure payment is received in line with Contract terms 
  • Reviewing payment claims submitted by delivery partners (subcontractors) and processing for payment in line with agreed payment terms 
  • Raising purchase orders for goods and services  
  • Liaising with TfV and delivery partner representatives to resolve AP / AR issues  
  • Maintaining finance systems, procedures and processes and supporting the Business & Performance Manager with financial analysis and reporting 

This role can be based in either our Network Intelligence & Operations Centre (NIOC)  in Melbourne CBD or in our VRMC Depot in South Dandenong. Full-time, part-time and flexible working options will be considered for this role.   

About you:

You’ll have at least three years’ experience in a comparable role, ideally in directly relevant industries such as civil engineering, road construction / maintenance, resources or heavy manufacturing.   

A committed team player who drives for service excellence and continuous improvement, you’ll demonstrate: 

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with enterprise-grade financial management systems (familiarity with JobPac highly regarded)  
  • Sound knowledge of financial reporting and budgeting processes underpinned by an analytical mindset 
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, with a track record of working collaboratively with customers and delivery partners to resolve issues  
  • Strong time management skills and an exceptional eye for detail when processing high volumes of data 

Formal qualifications (Cert IV or higher) in accounting/book-keeping or a commercial discipline are a bonus, but not essential if you can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and capability
