The Role & Responsibilities
Working closely with the Managing Director, the local leadership suite & peers across the organisation the Finance Director will lead, manage & mentor the wider finance team.
This is a genuine, high impact opportunity where you will play a pivotal role driving business strategy, enhancing existing controls & have oversight across all operational processes & procedures.
Key duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Lead, empower & develop the wider Finance team;
- Design & implement strategic initiatives across Accounting Operations;
- Collaborate with Group functions to meet & enhance reporting deliverables & deadlines;
- Lead the preparation of statutory submissions including BAS, FBT & Income tax returns;
- Develop, drive & execute upon funding strategies;
- Provide financial insight, advice & guidance to the Managing Director & wider ELT team;
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax authorities & banking partners;
- Foster an ongoing culture of development, training & deeper commercial focus to improve upon existing processes; and
- Ad hoc as requested.
The Successful Candidate
Within the context of the role described above, the ideal applicant will be someone who has the following experiences:
- Proven experience supporting, driving & empowering a finance team;
- Ability to operate strategically with a desire to understand the business to problem solve, support, and understand challenges at the operational level;
- Ideally you will have had prior experience working across Treasury;
- Ideally you will have prior experience working withing a Big 4 Accounting firm;
- Prior experience working within Financial Services, Banking or Professional Services;
- Tertiary qualifications combined with a CPA/CA accreditation; and
- Strong organisational, negotiation, presentation, and project management skills.
