The Finance Director is responsible for ensuring that directors and members have appropriate oversight of Baseball Victoria’s financial operations.
Leadership
•Chair the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee and ensure minutes and actions are communicated to the wider BV Board.
•Foster and maintain constructive relationships with the Board and among all directors.
•Provide the financial update as part of the BV Annual Report and Annual General Meeting.
Strategic Management
•Support board members to be engaged and that all decisions of the Baseball Victoria Board take into account the long-term interests of the organisation and baseball.
•Ensure that the Baseball Victoria Board takes collective responsibility for its decisions and all consequences.
Internal Relationships
•Implement appropriate measures to ensure regular interaction with Baseball Victoria’s CEO, Finance Controller, President, and Board Chairperson and develop and maintain an open and supportive relationship while respecting the boundaries between the roles of operational management and governance.
•Establish and develop a strong, effective, and constructive working relationship with the Baseball Victoria Board.
External Relationships
•Utilise personal business networks and other relationships to promote the organisation.
•Provide support to BV CEO and Finance Controller when required for external audit.
•Represent BV Incorporated at the AGM, other meetings mandated by the Constitution and when reporting organisational performance.
Additional Selection Criteria (President)
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills, in particular, public speaking.
•Demonstrated knowledge of the duties and obligations of a director and company officer.
•Appropriate qualifications or equivalent professional experience (CPA/CA/CIMA).
